Pilot Road 2's Mounted

Got the new tires mounted and install last night. Took it out for a short scrub-in ride. Well as much scrub-in as you can do when it is 28 degrees outside :).

Pilot Road 2 Purchased

I got the rear 180/55/17 Pilot Road 2 mounted yesterday, to replace my rear tire. I removed the front wheel last night and will be getting the 120/70/17 Pilot Road 2 mounted today. I should be back on the road tomorrow.

Amazing Video of R1200RT low speed manuvering

I am thinking about switching to the Pilot Road 2 tires this tire change. It looks to be about a $60 premium over the Pilot Road's. Might be worth the extra confidence factor when leaned over.

Arkansas Ride Jan 12, 2008

Yesterday entailed a 570 mile ride from Fenton, MO to Mountain View Arkansas for lunch at Anglers Lodge and back. There were 3 riders, Ryan, Ed and myself.
We started off at 8:00 am, arriving at Anglers at 2:30 pm. The ride started off at about 30 degrees farenheit, once we hit Arkansas, temps stayed in the high 40's to low 50's. After lunch, we encoutered a small amount of rain. The wet road lasted until we got 50 miles or so into Missouri.

All went well, and I finally finished off the rear tire on my R1200RT. Not only with the 10k miles on it, but with the nail I noticed once we crossed into Arkansas. You can see the nail in the center of the tire. I checked the pressure and it was not leaking. I had a plug kit and CO2, and Ed had a small compressor, so we decided to leave the nail in and address it if it started leaking. It held up the entire ride, but I will be replacing it first thing this week.
